Carter Langley To Make CARS Tour Debut with JJR

Carter Langley entered 2021 looking to establish himself as one of the up-and-coming drivers in late model stock car racing. The sixteen-year old native of Zebulon NC has done just that.

Langley has spent the majority of the 2021 season running at South Boston Speedway against veterans Peyton Sellers and Mike Looney along with other young up and comers Landon Pembelton and Jacob Borst on a regular basis. Langley captured his first career LMSC pole at South Boston back on August 21st. In 20 starts between South Boston, Langley Speedway and Wake County Speedway he has tallied 7 top five and 13 top ten finishes – including a season best 3rd in his most recent trip to South Boston.

Langley’s hard work thus far in 2021 has opened a door – allowing him to make his CARS

Tour debut next weekend with Justin Johnson Racing at Tri-County Speedway. The one race deal will see Langley team up with up-and-coming crew chief Chase Janes and pilot the familiar Langley #5 with support from 2021 partner GXS Wraps as well as its parent company Graphix Solution.

Langley commented on his CARS Tour debut, “I’m super excited about the opportunity to make my CARS Tour debut with JJR. They have been one of the most consistent teams in the CARS Tour and I feel like they will put me in a position to compete.” Langley added, “JJR has won a couple of times already at Tri-County in the weekly shows and Justin is really good there. I know between his guidance and knowing the car can compete the pressure is on. I feel like we can go out and have a solid top 5 finish if all the cards fall in the right place. I’ve race against several of these guys earlier in the year in the Triple Crown events and the level of competition is so high. To say I am excited about the chance to drive one of Justin’s cars in a CARS Tour event is an understatement.”

“I am really excited to be able to have Carter in one of our cars next weekend at Tri-County,” the initial comment from JJR team owner Justin Johnson. “Carter has really done a nice job so far this year at South Boston. His ability to hold his own against the best late model drivers in the area has been impressive and we saw that in the 200 lapper at South Boston and the Hampton Heat.” Johnson closed by stating, “We have a winning mentality here at JJR and we know that Carter can get it done behind the wheel for us next weekend.”

Langley has had support during the 2021 campaign from Quality Pre-Owned Trucks and Cars, Mr. Handyman – Northwest Raleigh, GXS Wraps, National Land Realty, Bennett Jewett, Marty & Jackie Roberson and Solid Rock Carriers. Langley stressed the importance of his partnerships stating, “I can’t thank all of our supporters and partners for getting us to the racetrack every week. Our team is fortunate to have such great people behind us and I really want to make them proud next weekend at Tri-County. None of this is possible without the support of my entire family going all the way back to go karts.”

The Harrison’s Workwear.com 225 at Tri County Speedway will take place Saturday September 11th with the green flag scheduled for 7:30. Advance tickets are available at cartouracing.com ($18) and will also be available day of at the track ($25). The event will also be available online via pay per view courtesy of Pit Row TV at carstour.tv
